Festival Takes Place at Fazenda Evaristo

The festival, happening during Carnival 2012 at Fazenda Evaristo in Rio Negrinho, offers the public a variety of music, theater performances, a film showcase, workshops, and many other attractions, all in direct contact with nature. Preparations for the annual festival, aimed at lovers of good music, arts, nature, and human interaction, are already underway. The event attracts attendees from all over the country, primarily from the states of Paraná, Santa Catarina, Rio Grande do Sul, São Paulo, Minas Gerais, and Rio de Janeiro. This is Festival Psicodália 2012, which has already sold out its first three ticket batches, as well as a special flash batch released in the initial days of promotion. The fourth batch is now on sale at www.psicodalia.mus.br.

In addition to these attractions, the festival is bringing its first international act, the Australian band "Jarrah Thompson Band," who will perform on Saturday. Over the years, Psicodália has hosted renowned artists such as Tom Zé, Os Mutantes, Traditional Jazz Band, Som Nosso de Cada Dia, Terreno Baldio, Made in Brazil, Patrulha do Espaço, the Curitiba-based band Blindagem, Pata de Elefante, Terra Celta, and many more.

CREATION

The festival was conceived by the Curitiba-based trio Julianna Henriques, Klauss Pereira, and Alexandre Osiecki and goes beyond music. According to the founders, the original idea was to create an atmosphere of joy and camaraderie for the audience, uniting various forms of artistic expression and connecting the public to what is being produced across the country. Born in the city of Angra dos Reis in 2001 as a pilot project, it was officially named Psicodália in 2003, when it was held in Lapa, Paraná. Subsequent editions took place in Morretes and Antonina, also in Paraná, and São Martinho in southern Santa Catarina.

A DIFFERENT OPTION

The location chosen for the last three editions, Fazenda Evaristo, situated in Rio Negrinho, Santa Catarina, 130 km from Curitiba, is perfect for those seeking a unique Carnival experience. It is an ideal setting to embrace the festival's core values: promoting and appreciating music and integrated arts, having fun, spreading peace, connecting with nature, and engaging with others, all of which are emphasized in every edition.

The 15th edition of the event features over thirty musical acts, along with its traditional workshops, theater performances, and showcases of cinema and visual arts. This year's highlights include Bahia-born musician Paulinho Boca de Cantor performing Novos Baianos, who will take the stage on Friday, February 17, and the 1970s band Casa das Máquinas, returning to the Psicodália stage after their historic 2008 performance, performing on Monday. On Saturday, February 18, the 1970s Rio de Janeiro rock band A Bolha will perform, and on Tuesday, February 21, the duo Sá & Guarabyra will round out the main attractions.
